Sometimes students and professionals are bright, competent, motivated, and verbal, yet struggle to perform on par in specific academic, organizational, professional, and testing domains. In such presentations, the child or adult may be told they are “lazy”, or “not trying hard enough”, or “were not paying sufficient attention”.
