Dr. Christina Felonis is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in psychological and neuropsychological assessments and evidence-based therapy for children, adolescents, college students, adults, and families. Her expertise includes comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for learning and executive functioning differences, attention concerns, and complex psychiatric presentations, as well as treatment for mood, anxiety, OCD, trauma, and eating disorders.
Dr. Felonis completed her doctoral training at Drexel University, her predoctoral internship at Rady Children’s Hospital and UC San Diego Hospital, and her postdoctoral fellowship at the UC San Diego Hospital Eating Disorders Center for Treatment and Research.
Dr. Felonis’ assessment experience covers the lifespan. At UC San Diego, she conducted neuropsychological and diagnostic evaluations for adolescents and adults with complex comorbid presentations, with a particular focus on differential diagnosis and recommendations for treatment. At Rady Children’s Hospital, she conducted comprehensive psychoeducational and diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents presenting with developmental concerns, ADHD, mood and anxiety difficulties, and behavioral dysregulation, working closely with pediatricians and families to translate diagnoses into practical recommendations for home and school.
In her therapeutic work, Dr. Felonis draws on cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, exposure and response prevention, prolonged exposure therapy, cognitive processing therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and family-based treatment, tailoring her approach to each client’s needs and developmental stage.
Dr. Felonis believes assessments should do more than produce a diagnosis, and that therapy works best when grounded in a clear understanding of the person and family. Whether through an evaluation or ongoing treatment, her aim is for clients and families to leave with genuine insight into how they think and function, along with concrete direction for what comes next. She collaborates closely with parents, schools, pediatricians, and psychiatrists to support a coordinated approach to care.
Dr. Felonis works closely with Dr. Maker and Aspiring Families team to provide comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and integrated holist care for you, your child, and your family.
